Snake Rail Fence Section
SOLD OUT!! A snake rail fence (also known as a zigzag fence) is so named because of their meandering construction. This split rail fence is the iconic type built in the United States during the American Civil War. They are simple to construct, can be assembled with few tools, and are particularly popular in very rocky areas where post hole digging is almost impossible. The abundance of easily accessible building material, i.e. wood, throughout the heavily forested eastern United States made the fence ubiquitous in the more settled regions.

Old Growth Oak Tree, Autumn
Depending on the type, oaks can be considered a medium to tall tree, as many oak trees range anywhere from 60-100 feet tall when fully grown. A fully leafed out, 70 foot oak tree can have a crown spread of 50 feet, and while all crown shapes differ, oak trees all have that distinctively oak, lobed leaf. In autumn these leaves turn from their rich greens to reds and golds, to orange and browns, in some of the most beautiful displays in the forest. With the fall’s change in temperature and loss of daylight, leaves stop their food-making process. The leaf ’s numerous cells contain chlorophyll, which gives the leaf its green color. This chemical absorbs the energy from sunlight and feeds the tree. When the chlorophyll breaks down, the green color disappears, and the show begins.
Realistic and durable, this piece is designed to fit a common book shelf. Multiple trees placed at differing angles will give your display the illusion of a dense, old growth forest.

Black Randall Lineback Cows
Dairy cattle (also called dairy cows) are bred for the ability to produce large quantities of milk. Historically, little distinction was made between dairy cattle and beef cattle, with the same stock often being used for both meat and milk production. Our cattle are referred to as the Randall Lineback, one of the earlier known breeds of cattle in North America. This breed of cattle exists in unique variations of both brown and black color. It is thought the Randall Linebacks are a combination of Dutch, French, and English cattle and are a “landrace” breed descended from common cattle in New England.

Brown Randall Lineback Cows
The Randall Lineback breed is the last survivor of the once numerous “all-purpose” breed of cattle that became popular throughout New England beginning in the late 1600s. Numerous European cattle from different homelands were introduced into New England and, over time, these imports were mixed together. Individuals with desirable traits were selected to produce hardy, useful cattle that served local demand for milk, draft, and meat for centuries thereafter. Because they preceded the era of “purebred” cattle, the precise origin Randall Linebacks will most likely never be known.
