NEW! IN STOCK!
When the M1919 Browning .30 cal. machine gun saw service as a light infantry weapon, it was crewed by five-men: the squad leader; the gunner (who fired the gun and carried the tripod and box of ammunition); the assistant gunner (who fed the gun and, when advancing, carried it, along with a box of spare parts and tools); and two ammunition carriers. Each ammunition handler carried at least two pressed metal cans. Holding belted or linked .30-caliber machine gun ammunition, they weighed around 18 lbs. when loaded. Originally planned to be disposable, the cans were recycled for reloading. Many were later sold as army surplus and are still used and collected by many enthusiasts today.
