The Queen's Rangers were among the most famous of all the Loyalist Corps. They fought in many actions around New York, Philadelphia, Charleston and Virginia until the surrender at Yorktown. Part of this famed unit consisted of a troop of Hussars dressed in the Corps uniform of green and sported tall caps ornamented with the crescent device, which was the emblem of the Rangers. Armed with pistols captured from the enemy and iron mounted sabers made by James Potter in New York City, the hussars proved to be a highly active and dangerous enemy to the Patriot forces.
