The Union Signaling Station at Cheves' Rice Mill across from Fort McAllister. Major General Sherman and Brigadier General Howard at a map in final preparations for the land attack on Fort McAllister, the last major battle of the Savanah campaign. He has directed that CPT McClintock, his Signal Officer, signal to General Hazen to commence the attack on Fort McAllister. On the signaling platform is Cpl. Magner with his wig-wag flag.
