20th Regiment of Foot, Grenadier Burgoyne Campaign, 1777

20th Regiment of Foot, Grenadier Burgoyne Campaign, 1777 - American Revolution

A Note From Don Troiani: "American Revolution: A British Grenadier of the 20th Regiment of Foot , as he would have appeared during the Saratoga Campaign of 1777. Burgoyne's Army wore shortened coats and had their hats cut into caps with hair crests. Grenadiers often stored their expensive fur caps away when on campaign . Here is an excavated Grenadier's cartridge box badge found in the upper NYS area from the 20th that was used as the model for the one in the painting."
