Last Cavalry Historical Toys and Hobbies was created to share my passion and to bring you the finest products that I can find. At Last Cavalry we really do test, sample, build, use and enjoy the items we sell.

We are model builders, figure painters, toy collectors, book collectors, music fans and history buffs. We live this stuff everyday! We sincerely hope that the enjoyment that we find in our hobbies is shared by you.

I have always had a deep love of history and began building models with my father in the 1960's. All my friends also built models and whether it was the latest aircraft kit, funny car or monster model, we would get together on Saturdays and build and paint until it was time to watch cartoons or play army in the backyard.

I also loved toy soldiers and would spend hours setting up elaborate battle scenes, only to decimate the armies within a matter of minutes. Boys grow up and I discovered girls and rock'n'roll in my teenage years and began a lifelong 2nd career as a drummer and moved into the fine arts of painting and drawing.

After getting married and starting a family I rediscovered my boyhood hobbies and realized how much fun, relaxation and creativity that I was missing.

I jumped in with both feet and began to devour the new techniques in modeling, the amazing advances in kit detail, the 'matt finish' on painted toy soldiers and all of the the cool new directions the hobby had taken.

I applied my fine art training to modeling and discovered that I really enjoyed creating realistic figures and dioramas for myself and collectors.

I began painting for Corgi in 2004 and then began with the historic William Britain toy soldier company in 2005 painting the original matt paint masters which I continue to do to this day.

This brings us to Last Cavalry Historic Toys and Hobbies.
So many on-line hobby stores feature a long list of products, but how do you use them? Have they been opened, looked at, assembled and painted? We believe that we have created a store with the modeler and collector in mind and Last Cavalry TV will strive to show the techniques and the products that we sell up close and in use.

Thank you for visiting, shopping and enjoying our store!

Overview

William Britain, W. Britain or simply Britain's, no matter what we are called our name is synonymous with toy soldiers. Since 1893 W. Britain has been producing toy soldiers and military miniatures with attention to detail, quality and authenticity. Each model figure is cast out of metal and hand painted to the highest possible standards. Our ranges include traditional toy style figures in 1/32 scale (54mm / 2.125" tall) and a large selection of realistic matte finished figures in 1/30 scale (58mm / 2.3125" tall). Most major time periods are covered from the eighteenth century up to the conflicts of the twentieth century. Whatever your interest, W. Britain has figures and accessories for your collection!
