The German Sturmgeschutz III was an effective fully tracked self-propelled gun armed with a 75mm gun that was often used to support panzergenadier units. This assault gun and the Sd.Kfz 251 half-track were the most produced armored combat vehicles produced in Germany during the war. Here a German assault has been stopped in its tracks by an allied unit somewhere along the border of Germany during the winter of 1944-1945.
