Coldstream Guards Grenadier Officer Marching, 1792
Edward Dayes produced a series of illustrations of the Coldstream Guards. One figure not depicted in his collection was that of a Grenadier Officer. Our reconstruction is based on known portraits and the regulations of the period and has gold lace and buttons on his superfine wool regimental coat. He does not wear the wings associated with the Grenadiers on his shoulders, but a pair of officers gold epaulettes, and at his neck, a gold gorget, another symbol of rank.
